Okahu Syrah 2006

Enhanced by the Kauri Sands Terroir that surrounds Okahu Estate, this wine displays raspberry,blackberry and blueberry characters that combine with floral spice, licorice and chocolate for a firm intense extended finish.

Aroma

This 2006 Syrah displays a delicate bouquet of Raspberry, Blackberry and Blueberry characters, combining with floral spice producing an elegant expectation

Palate

Ripe, spicy dark fruits provide a tantalising entry which leads to deeper more luxurious chocolate,liquorish and concentrated dark berry characters. The finish is complemented by fine spicy fruit and oak tannins, for an extended, enjoyable memory.

Food Match

Lamb shanks, braised in a red wine and mushroom sauce, or aged eye fillet steak, medium rare with a whole green pepper sauce. Potato mash and fresh green beans with hollandaise sauce complete the plate.
