Shipwreck Bay Syrah 2012

This Syrah is very approachable, displaying floral aromatics of summer berries and lifted spicy tannins, with a sweet taste of cherries and cranberries developing into a nice soft finish of sweet oak tannins.

Aroma

Summer berry fruits, spice and cranberry nuances. The nose is floral and intriguing.

Palate

A sweet burst of berry fruit is the first sensation, followed by spicy red liquorice and dark bitter chocolate flavours. The finish is of fine grained tannins leaving an excellent memory.

Food Match

Afternoons on the patio with an antipasto plate of spicy meats and hard cheeses. Dinner of roast chicken, with crunchy roast Kumara and potatoes.
