Okahu Chardonnay 2005
Premium parcels of fruit were selected from Hawkes Bay and combined with fruit from our Northland estate to produce this Okahu range Chardonnay. A rich and textured palate makes this a fine wine to enjoy with food.
Aroma
Warm aromatics of nougat, hazel nuts, pineapple and lime. The bouquet is delicate, but hints of more to come.
Palate
The silky texture gives way to candied peel, melon and pineapple followed by grapefruit and lime citrus. The oak is fine grained and well integrated, providing balance. The lasting memory is of fine wine biscuit, combined with lemon honey.
Food Match
Pan fried snapper with macadamia and lemon mousse sauce, or crispy roast chicken with mixed herb stuffing.
