LATEST AND LARGEST SHIPMENT OF FAR NORTH WINE OFF TO CHINA
Far North Winery, Okahu Estate has just shipped its second order of wine to China.
“This time it was a full container of 1000 cases of both Okahu and Shipwreck Bay wines”, says Okahu owner, Monty Knight. “This represents three times the order we shipped last December to our clients ‘The Red Wine Warehouse’ in Zhaoqing, China.
This is in keeping with distribution agreement we have secured with the company, who have recently opened a second wine warehouse in Zhaoqing.
The order is predominately for red wines, but does include some Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc and Okahu’s after dinner wine ‘Chardonnay Desserté’.
Commenting on the order, Rod McIvor of Marsden Estate and President of the Northland Winegrowers Association said, “This is a tremendous achievement for a Far North winery. I know that Monty has developed this trade, totally on his own and has formed a strong relationship with this Chinese customer. I’m sure that all Northlanders will join me in congratulating him on the success of his endeavours”.
